\
TMA can provide...TMA's Place in Self-Defense.
\
TMA can provide one with a base of skill to defend oneself.... TMA, does not extend to the applied self defense realism such as police officers or victims of crime experience... sudden, random violence without warning and taking place in unknown & unpredictable environments. So the reaction of the woman in the YT Vid, then a young woman, is one to be expected.
\
The above dichotomy aside... TMA students can basically approach TMA on one of three planes: (1) recreational fun & exercise doing 'neat TKD stuff.' (2) TMA as a serious sport where competition reigns "King.' Or (3), TMA study & practice according to the principles of the Masters...
\
The protagonist in the video mentions ..."Training to score points." So her TMA study falls somewhere among (1) or (2) above. Bottom Line: An assailant is not there to help you succeed. If you are training wrong, it's ultimately up to you to suffer then when Mr. Bad isn't playing @ fighting for fun... Naivete will not save you.
\
The Woman in the YT Video could start by not just blindly following along with all the shee-ople around her. At 12 years old, the adults in her life bear the most responsibility in this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
