Red Belt One Step Sparring

All red belt one steps begin from the Chun Be position, with the opponent in the Front Stance/Low Block position. The opponent steps forward into a high punch.

3rd Gup Red Belt
  1. Both hands to right hip; Step to the right 45° Left knife hand blocks punch, right fist punches face. Left leg steps back to fighting stance. Right leg front snap kick to face , step down into a front stance. From the opponent’s position you will be angled 45° to their left. Left punch to chest, right punch to face.
  2. Both hands to left hip, left punch to chest, stepping to the right 45°. Both hands to right hip; Step to the right 45° Left knife hand blocks punch, right fist punches face. Right leg swings back and the left leg pull back a little as well. Right leg turning side kick to face stepping into a front stance. From the opponent’s position you will be angled 45° to their left. Left punch to chest, right punch to face.
  3. (Change: end with 2 punches) Left leg steps 90° away from opponent into a fighting stance; right open hand blocks punch outward (to your left). Right elbow to chest. Turn to the left until back is to opponent looking over your left shoulder. Back kick with left leg, set down into a front stance between opponent’s legs. Right punch to solar plexus, left punch to face.
  4. Left leg steps 90° away from opponent into a fighting stance; right open hand blocks punch outward (to your left). Right elbow to chest. Turn 180° left and left elbow to chest. Turn to right 180°. Right round kick to face set down into a front stance at 45°. Left punch to chest, right soo do to neck.

2nd Gup Red Belt
  1. (Change: Kicking stance and end with 2 punches) Left leg back into a fighting stance; block punch downward with right open hand. Right hand pulls back and then Sudo to left side of neck. Slide right leg back to Fighting Stance. Right leg side kick, landing in a Front Stance. Left punch to the solar plexus, right punch to the face.
  2. Hop left to 45° right inside to outside knife hand blocking punch. Left punch to ribs, right punch to face. Right round kick to stomach setting down behind. Right Sudo to back of neck. Move right foot to front of opponent; left punch to ribs.
  3. Both hands to right hip ; Step to the right 45° Left knife hand blocks punch, right hand Sudo right side of head. Left hand grabs the opponent’s wrist, while the right hand grabs the lapels. Right leg steps behind opponent’s right leg. Push opponent while sweeping opponent to ground. Punch straight downward to the face.
  4. (Change: a lot) Step back with the right foot to fighting stance and execute a left inside to outside knife block inside of punch. Grab opponent’s wrist with your left hand. Step 180° into opponent and right elbow strike face. Step back to fighting stance and right leg round kick to face. Set down to the left of opponent and back fist to face. (Omit this: Turn and left elbow strike to chest.) Grab opponent’s shoulder. Push back while sweeping the opponent to the ground. Punch face.
  5. Left leg steps 90° away from opponent; right open hand blocks punch outward. Right elbow to chest immediate groin strike with right fist. Pull back and cross, then right back fist to face. Right hand pushes opponent’s punch down. Right hook kick to face, set down in front of opponent. With right fist, back fist opponent’s right side of face. Turn into a right leg leading Front Stance and poke opponent’s eyes out with two left fingers.
