Lo Hi

  1. From a regular Chun Be position, open both hands slowly swinging both arms to their respective sides, palms facing forward. Slowly bring the open palms toward the nose. Do not let the tips of the fingers touch, but bring them very close, palms down (Master Chun Sik Kim's Book actually shows them touching).
  2. Look right. Turn right 900 and execute a low knife block (Ha Dan Sudo Makee) in a fighting stance.
  3. Look left 1800. Turn Left 1800 and execute a modified low knife block with the palm of the left hand face up in a fighting stance.
  4. Execute a right fist short punch (yuk gin).
  5. Look 1350 right. Turn to the right by sliding the right (back) foot backwards to the left foot and stretching both arms out, palms down.
  6. Close the fists as if grabbing and pull them back to the ribs with the palms touching the sides.
  7. Again reach out with both arms again, palms down, in the same place as when you turned around in the last move.
  8. Grab, and pull the fist back to the ribs again, this time leaping forward with the right foot and landing with a head butt. Ki-yup. Warp the left foot around the right knee.
  9. Jump up in place landing on the left foot, this time wrapping the right foot behind the left knee. As the jump and landing occur, the hands rotate as follows; the left open hand stretches downward over the groin as the right open hand moves to cover the left shoulder. The hands then rotate, left on the outside right on the inside. When done, the right hand is in low knife block position over the right knee. Remember this leg is wrapped around the left knee. The left hand is behind the head, bent at the elbow, fingers pointing straight up.
  10. Stepping forward in the same angled direction with the right foot landing in a front stance; execute a right hand middle knife attack with the left fist pulled back to the left ribs.
  11. Step forward with the left foot into a front stance in the same angled direction and execute a double middle punch, left first, right next.
  12. Turn 1350 left and execute a left hand low block in a left foot-leading front stance.
  13. Immediately slide the front, left foot, back to a fighting stance and perform a right hand short punch (yuk gin).
  14. Look 450 right (this is complimentary to the angle used earlier). Execute an in-place jump landing on the left foot and wrapping the right foot around the back of the left knee.
  15. Stepping forward in the same angled direction with the right foot landing in a front stance; execute a right hand middle knife attack with the left fist pulled back to the left ribs.
  16. Step forward with the left foot into a front stance in the same angled direction and execute a double middle punch, left first, right next.
  17. Continuing in the same angled direction, execute an outside/inside slap kick with the back (right) foot against the left hand. As you perform the slap, pull the right fist back to the right rib. Hold for a second.
  18. With the right leg, kneel down and execute a downward punch with the right fist. Ki-yup.
  19. Look 450 right (this will be directly forward as in the same direction you were facing at Chun Be). Execute an in-place jump landing on the left foot and wrapping the right foot around the left knee.
  20. Stepping straight forward with the right foot landing in a front stance, execute a right hand middle knife block with the left fist pulled back to the left ribs.
  21. Without stepping at all, execute a double middle punch, first with the left, next with the right.
  22. Slide the right foot back to the left keeping the knees slightly bent and both fists to your left side.
  23. At the last minute straighten the knees and switch the fists to the right side. The right fist to the right ribs and the left arm crossing the chest, but not touching.
  24. With the left foot execute an outside/inside hook kick. Hold for a moment.
  25. Setting down in a left foot-leading fighting stance, execute a double punch a la Pal Che Dae. The right fist is high and the left is low.
  26. Slide the left foot back to the right keeping the knees slightly bent. Pull the fists back to the right side as they were before the double punch.
  27. At the last minute, switch the fists so that the left is at the left ribs and the right arm crosses the chest without touching.
  28. With the right foot execute an outside/inside hook kick. Hold for a moment.
  29. Setting down in a right foot-leading fighting stance, execute a double punch a la Pal Che Dae. The left fist is high and the right is low.
  30. Immediately turn 1800 left (backwards) and execute a right hand upper-cut punch. As you turn and punch, drop down onto the right knee. Pull the left fist to the right shoulder.
  31. Bring both open hands to the left hip. From the kneeling position jump and spin leftward 1800 landing in a fighting stance and execute a middle knife block. Ki-yup.
  32. Stepping back with the right foot into a left foot leading fighting stance, execute a low knife block.
